MINUTES OF A MEETING of the St Goran Parish Council held on 1st November 2007 in the St Goran Church Schoolrooms at 7.30p.m. with Mr Grose in the Chair. Present were Messrs Ayres, Bullen, Church, Husband, Lobb, Mrs Crouch, Mrs Gouldsmith and Mrs Stokes. PUBLIC SESSION As there were no members of the public present the meeting went straight into formal session. APOLOGIES Mrs D. Mutton and Mr P.Trevarton (District Councillors). MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE 4TH OCTOBER 2007 The minutes were agreed. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES Footpath – Bell Hill. A meeting has been arranged with the ‘ Safer route to school’ team and Cornwall County Council Officers and the County Councillor. Dogs on the beach. The dog warden recommends banning dogs on the beach during the daytime during the summer season. Lime Kiln seats. Mr Jock Eliot of Gorran Haven would like to donate towards the third seat on the Lime Kiln. COMMITTEE REPORTS Footpaths. Mr Lobb reported that there is new fencing on the footpath to Colona. There was discussion on the problem with designated footpaths around the edge of fields where the farmers now have to leave the margins untrimmed. Cornwall County Council and DEFRA to be contacted. Mrs Crouch asked who is responsible for the seat on the Gruda as the area in front of this needs clearing. National Trust to be contacted. Beach. Nothing to report. This item is on the agenda separately General Purposes. Nothing to report. CORRESPONDANCE C.C.C. Details of the adoption of the Cornwall Statement of Community Involvement . R.B.C. Letter in respect of Community Assets after April 2009 when the new unitary authority tales over. C.C.C. Questionnaire in connection with ‘One Cornwall’ PLANNING Mr Stephen Welsh. Extension to rear and replacement of conservatory and dormer. Removal of front dormer, repair window at Treveague Farm, Gorran. Full Planning. No objection. Mr Stephen Welsh. Track, walkway and play area on campsite at Treveague Farm, Gorran. Full Planning. No objection. Mr Stephen Welsh. Garage and Office at Treveague Farm, Gorran. Full Planning. No objection. Mr & Mrs Smith Copy of a letter of objection to planning application at 1 Rose Cottages, Gorran Haven sent to R.B.C. This application was considered at the previous P.C. meeting BILLS FOR PAYMENT Receipts Mrs Miles clerk’s salary 340.00 R.B.C. beach grant 800.00 Mrs Miles clerk’s expenses 53.79 Mrs Miles clerk’s purchases 26.16 Mr Williams grasscutting 42.75 Mr Crook grasscutting 90.00 632.70 All the bills for October have been paid. Agreed to pay the bills for November and to transfer £500.00 to the burial fund and £500.00 to the development fund. BEACH Members of the public to be invited to comment either in writing or by attending the next P.C. meeting as to what they want for the beach next season. REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY Mr Grose to lay the wreath at the Remembrance Service on Sunday 11th November. PARISH PROBLEMS Mr Husband reported that the amount of leaves at the bottom of Crooked Lane are causing problems. Mr Ayres asked whether a sign could be put at the bottom of Trewollock Lane to show that the lane is unsuitable for HGVs. Mrs Stokes expressed concern that householders are leaving rubbish round the bin at the beach. Mr Grose reported that the hedge from Penare to Hemmick has been cut but the trimmings have not been removed from the road and this could be dangerous for vehicles. He also expressed concern that there are a lot of hedge cuttings that have been put in the churchyard.
